Colorado Photos Mt Sneffels Wilderness Fall Colors. On this page you will see images taken of the Sneffels Range, Mt. Sneffels Wilderness, Colorado. The Mt. Sneffels Wilderness is an approximate 6 hours and 15 minute drive from the Denver area. We left the Denver area just at 1:30 am and arrived in Ridgway Colorado just after 8:00 am. The photos of the Sneffels Range located on this page were taken in the Fall on October 10th, 2015 at approximately 10:00am. The scenic photos with the wooden post fence were taken in the afternoon just off Highway 62.

Gear Used to Photograph Colorado Mt Sneffels Wilderness

The following camera gear was used in the Landscape Photos of Mt Sneffels Wilderness:

  • Nikon D810,
  • Nikkor 24-70mm, f/2.8,
  • a Really Right Stuff TVC-34L Tripod (TA-3-QC: Series 3 Quick-Column),
  • with a Really Right Stuff BH-55 LR Ballhead,
  • and an Apple iPhone 6 Plus.

The 10:15 am morning exposures for the Mt Sneffels Wilderness images averaged between 1/3 of a second and 1/25 of a second at f/11 and ISO of 31. The later morning photos of the Sneffels Range used a faster shutter and smaller aperture of 1/320 of a second at F/11. The Mt Sneffels images were taken with the Nikkor 24-70mm lens. The Mt Sneffels Wilderness images were created by combining 7-9 exposures at one full stop apart so that we could capture the high dynamic range of scene. The wide panoramic images were created by combining up to 13 images.
