B&W Photos of Colorado Front Range RMNP Gore Range Overlook

Black and White Photos of Colorado Front Range & Longs Peak

Black and White Photos of Colorado Front Range & Longs Peak. These images of the Front Range in Rocky Mountain National Park were captured on an early summer morning. The last five images in our gallery are of the Never Summer Range in Rocky Mountain National Park. These photos were taken from the Fairview Curve Viewpoint. All other images are captured from the Gore Range Overlook along Trail Ridge Road. From this overlook you can see Longs Peak, Terra Tomah, Mount Julian, Hayden Spire, and the Colorado Front Range. As drove we back from the west side along Trail Ridge Road, we noticed these amazing never ending vistas. Sunlight filtering through the clouds, created dramatic and dappled light seen in these pictures. These photos were taken on June 30, 2019 between 8:05am and 9:22am.

Technical Details of Photography of Never Summer Mountains RMNP Colorado

The following camera gear was used in the Landscape Photography of the Never Summer Range and Kawuneeche Valley in Rocky Mountain National Park Colorado:

B&W Photo of Hayden Spire RMNP Colorado

  • the Nikon D850 with a Really Right Stuff L-Bracket,
  • a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lens,
  • Sony RX 100 MVI,
  • a Really Right Stuff TVC 34L tripod,
  • with a Really Right Stuff BH-50 LR Ballhead,

  • and a F-Stop Gear Aloe Green Tilopa 50L Back Pack (with large Pro ICU).

The photo to the right was taken on the Sony RX100 M6 at 72mm. These B&W photos were all processed as RAW files in Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. The RX100 M6 exposures for the images averaged between 1/500 of a second to 1/800 of a second at f/7.1. The D850 exposures for the images averaged between 1/320 of a second to 1/400 of a second at f/11. We used the D850’s native ISO of 64.  The Sony RX 100 MVI images were all hand held at ISO 125 and 1/1000 of a second at f/7.1. Adobe Lightroom Classic CC is our editing and Digital Asset Management tool of choice. All of the images are single RAW files imported in to Lightroom, then converted to DNG. We then processed all photos shown here in the DNG file format.
