About Castle Rock Colorado
Castle Rock, Colorado is south of Denver and north of Colorado Springs. Castle Rock, first settled in the 1870s, is located in the heart of East Plum Creek Valley. Surrounded by rocky buttes and featuring stunning views of the Rocky Mountain Front Range. Castle Rock known for it’s landmark rock that’s both the size of and resembles an ancient castle. There is a hiking trail around and up to Castle Rock at Rock Park. But Castle Rock has more hiking trails in town and hidden in the surrounding countryside.
Rock Park in Castle Rock, Colorado is the trailhead for a 1.4 mile loop. You can climb this loop to the base of the town’s famous Castle Rock. Click here for the Castle Rock trail map.
From the Town’s namesake; Rock Park, to the historic downtown, to the many unique and family owned restaurants, there is something for every history, theatre, art and food buff. The population has increased from just over 3,900 people in 1980 to about 58,000 in 2015.
