Colorado Elk Photos Rocky Mountain National Park

Colorado Elk Photos Rocky Mountain National Park. After completing our sunrise photos of the Mummy Range we made our way down to Upper Beaver Meadows for Elk viewing. Upon arrival we found a gaggle of photographers positioned roadside all decked out with their telephoto lenses. We were all here to photograph the Colorado Elk in rutting season. Snow had fallen in Rocky Mountain National Park the previous night and can be seen in these images. A number of Bull Elk could be seen and heard bugling as they grazed upon the wild grasses in Upper Beaver Meadows. Even though it was well after sunrise the Elk were still active due to the cool temperatures. These images were taken from Upper Beaver Meadows along the side of the road on October 3rd around 9:15am.
