Dream Lake Rocky Mountain National Park Photos. On this page you will see images taken at Dream Lake and the Rocky Mountain National Park area. As we were leaving Rocky Mountain National Park we also captured some images of Bugling Elk and a Gilded Flicker at nearby stream. Autumn is the Elk Rutting Season at Rocky Mountain National Park and you can observe many large males Bugling. The early morning photos of Dream Lake located on this page were taken in the Fall on September 25th, 2015 at 6:50am.
September, 2015 marked the 100th Anniversary celebration of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Gear Used to Photograph Dream Lake, Birds & Elk at Rocky Mountain National Park
The following camera gear was used in the Nature and Landscape Photos of Rocky Mountain National Park:
- a Nikon D810,
- a Nikon D7100,
- a Nikkor 14-24mm,
- a Nikkor 24-70mm, f/2.8,
- a Tamron 150-600mm, f/5-6.3,
- a Really Right Stuff TVC-34L Tripod (TA-3-QC: Series 3 Quick-Column),
- with a Really Right Stuff BH-55 LR Ballhead,
- and an Apple iPhone 6 Plus.
The 6:50am morning exposures for the Dream Lake images averaged between 1/3 of a second and 1/20 of a second at f/11 and ISO of 64. The later morning photos of Dream Lake used a faster shutter and smaller aperture of 1/200 of a second at F/16. The Lake images were taken with the Nikkor 24-70mm lens and the Nikkor 14-24, f/2.8 lenses. The Dream Lake images were created by combining 7-9 exposures at one full stop apart so that we could capture the high dynamic range of the early morning sunrise.
