It is a treat for those lucky enough to call Castle Rock home. We are even treated to fresh snow and colorful skies during the Fall. These conditions make for stunning landscape views of Castle Rock. In a number of these images you can see the star over the Rock lit up at during a dramatic sunrise. - the NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR lens,
- ThinkTank Speed Demon V2.0 Convertible Shoulder Bag,
- the Sony RX100 MVI,
- and the iPhone XS Max,
- a Gitzo CF6X Mountaineer 2 tripod (GT2530),
- with a Really Right Stuff BH-40 LR Ballhead.
More Photo Details
Many of these Autumn morning photos were hand held while those taken with the Nikkor Z50 taken on a tripod. The exposures for the sunrise images averaged between 1/15 of a second to 1/200 second at approximately f/7.1 to f/16. We used the Sony RX100MVI and Z50’s Native ISO of 100. Most of the photos were processed from single exposures. Some of these images were created by combining 3 exposures at one full stop apart in Adobe Lightroom. This HDR process was done in order to capture the high dynamic range of the early morning winter light. The very wide panoramic photos were created in camera on the iPhone and on the Sony by stitching 12 or more vertical images together in Adobe Lightroom CC Classic.
