Photos of Baker Mountain Colorado River in Kawuneeche Valley at Rocky Mountain National Park. These images were captured on a summer photography trip to the in Kawuneeche Valley in Rocky Mountain National Park. This scenic location is on the West Side of Rocky Mountain National Park. Our hope this day was to capture a beautiful sunrise over Baker Mountain with the Colorado River. This year saw late snows which resulted in an abundance snow melt into the summer. This melt created high water levels filling rivers, streams and meadows, as seen in these images. As soon as the dawn light crested over the Continental Divide, you can see how the clouds reflected the beautiful orange and pink light. Soon after, the peak of Baker Mountain was illuminated in the dappled light. These photos of Baker Mountain and the Colorado River were taken on June 30, 2019 between 5:35am and 6:25am.

The photo to the right is a vertical image of Baker Mountain reflecting in a pond near the Colorado River. These photos were all taken on the Really Right Stuff TVC-24 Mk2 Apex tripod. The Z7 exposures for the images averaged between .5 seconds to 1/15 of a second at f/11 and f/14. We used the Z7’s native ISO of 64. The horizontal photo shown in the main banner was captured at the very beginning of the day with one frame and processed in Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. All of the images on this page were processed as RAW files in Adobe Lightroom Classic CC as a single frame.
