Photos of Colorado Fall Colors in Pike National Forest

Photos of Colorado Fall Colors in Pike National Forest: The Colorado picture located above was taking off Highway 81 in and area know as the Pike National Forest. It was taken during the Fall Foliage season on September 29, 2012. The Pike National Forest falls within Clear Creek, Teller, Park, Jefferson, Douglas and El Paso counties. The photos on this page was taken within the Teller County area. We have also included a number of photos taken on the same day from Gold Camp Road. Gold Camp Road (NFSR 370) is within the Pike National Forest in El Paso County, Colorado. Gold Camp Road ends at Lazy S Ranch Road and if you turn left, Victor Colorado is just a couple of miles away. During the winter Gold Camp Road is not plowed and the road is closed due to adverse weather conditions. When President Theodore Roosevelt traveled this route, he thought the area was so breathtaking that he described its beauty as “bankrupting the English language”.
