East Inlet Meadow Mount Baldy Photos Rocky Mountain National Park Colorado. These images were captured on an early morning hike to the East Inlet Meadow on the west side of Rocky Mountain National park. Mount Craig or Mount Baldy as its affectionately named by locals, reflects upon the still waters of East Inlet Meadow. This expansive meadow view along with s curve of the East Inlet waters is reminiscent of the winding sake river below the Grand Tetons in Wyoming. Moose and Elk are often spotted along the trail grazing upon the lush meadow grasses. These photos of the East Inlet Meadow and Mount Baldy were taken on August 16, 2018 between 6:07am and 7:46am.

East Inlet Meadow Mount Baldy RMNP Motion Graphic Video

This video animation of the East Inlet was created using special software. This motion graphic software utilizes a still photograph and creates animated vectors within the image file. The resulting video file is called a Plotagraph. This is similar to a Cinemagraph but uses one still image vs. using native video footage to create the final result.

Technical Details for Photography of the East Inlet and Mount Baldy

The following camera gear was used in the Landscape Photography of the East Inlet and Mount Baldy in Rocky Mountain National Park:

  • a Nikon D850 with a Really Right Stuff L-Bracket,
  • F-Stop Gear Aloe Green Tilopa 50L Back Pack (with large Pro ICU),
  • a Gitzo CF6X Mountaineer 2 tripod (GT2530),
  • with a Really Right Stuff BH-40 LR Ballhead,
  • a Nikkor AF-S NIKKOR 20mm f/1.8 lens.
  • and a Nikkor AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.

This is a relatively moderate and enjoyable hike on the lush West side of Rocky. The photo to the right was taken toward the end of our trip just as the sun rose above the peaks. These photos were all taken on the Gitzo CF6X Mountaineer 2 tripod. The D850 exposures for the images averaged between 1/6 of a second to 1/200 of a second at f/8 and f/16. We used the D850’s native ISO of 64. We used Adobe Lightroom Classic CC for most of the editing. A few of the photos were edited in Photoshop from a single exposure using Luminosity masks. We also like to use Luminar’s AI feature to add an extra pop to some of our images.
