Photos of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs CO at sunrise.. As the purple colors of sunrise began to illuminate the clouds over Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods began to glow. The serene rolling clouds and light over Pikes Peak made for a stunning and dramatic scene. With camera still on tripod, we quickly scrambled a short distance up a hill to capture the spectacular panoramic vista enfolding before our eyes. This page includes single frame and multi-frame panoramic photos of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. These images are from an overlook in Colorado Springs and captured between 5:20am and 6:17am on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

Gear Used to Photograph Pikes Peak & Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs
These colorful landscape photos were captured in early Summer of 2019 just before, during and after sunrise. The following camera gear was used in the Landscape Photography of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods, in Colorado Springs Colorado Colorado:
- the Nikon Z7 with a Really Right Stuff L-Bracket,
- NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S lens,
- a Gitzo CF6X Mountaineer 2 tripod (GT2530),
- with a Really Right Stuff BH-40 LR Ballhead,
- an Apple iPhone XS Max (for a few panos),
- and a F-Stop Gear Aloe Green Tilopa 50L Back Pack (with large Pro ICU).
These mid Summer photos were all taken on the Really Right Stuff tripod. Our Z7 exposures with the 24-70 S Zoom lens are 0.6 seconds to 1/60 of a second at F/8, F/9 and F/11. Our hand held iPhone exposures for the images averaged between 1/120 of a second to 1/1000 of a second at f/1.8 and f/2.4 at ISO 50. We used the Z7’s native ISO of 64 on all images. The wide panoramic photo are created by stitching 3-5 images together in Adobe Lightroom. The iPhone panorama was created in the iPhone and processed in Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. One photo is a blended HDR exposure of three images. All other images are single exposures and fully processed in Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.
