Photos of Timberline Falls Rocky Mountain National Park Colorado. Timberline Falls is situated high above Loch Vale and feeds into the Loch. These images were captured on our return from Lake of Glass and Sky Pond, a 9 mile round trip hike. Timberline Falls is just over 100 feet high. On our way back down to the trailhead, we climbed down a 30 foot vertical section of the falls. The climb up and down can be quite slippery and challenging, especially in the dark. These photos are from August 1, 2018, between 9:17am and 9:41am.

Gear Used to Photograph Timberline Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park Colorado
The following camera gear was used in the Photography of Timberline Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park:
- a Nikon D850 with a Really Right Stuff L-Bracket,
- F-Stop Gear Aloe Green Tilopa 50L Back Pack (with large Pro ICU),
- a Breakthrough Photography Circular Polarizing filter,
- a Gitzo CF6X Mountaineer 2 tripod (GT2530),
- with a Really Right Stuff BH-40 LR Ballhead,
- the Nikkor AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8 lens,
- and a Nikkor AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/4 lens, with a circular polarizer.
The waterfall photo to the right was captured as a 14 Bit RAW image and processed in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop using luminosity masks. The D850 exposures for the images averaged between .4 to .6 seconds at f/16. We used the D850’s native ISO of 64. A circular polarizer was used to enhance the color and water on the rocks. These photos were all taken on the Gitzo CF6X Mountaineer 2 tripod.
