Photography Gear Used to Capture the Colorado Springs Images
The camera gear used to photograph Pikes Peak and Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs includes the following; a Nikon D810, a Nikkor 24-70mm, f/2.8, a Nikkor 14-24mm, f/2.8, a Nikkor 70-200mm, f/2.8 a Really Right Stuff TVC-34L Tripod (TA-3-QC: Series 3 Quick-Column) with a Really Right Stuff BH-55 LR Ballhead and an Apple iPhone 6 Plus. The evening exposures for the images averaged between 3 seconds and 201 seconds in length at f/9.0 to f/16.0 with a camera ISO of 64. A Promote Remote was used for the evening images. This gave us the ability to capture photos longer that 30 seconds (when bracketing multiple exposures for the final HDR composite). The morning photos averaged between 1/15 of a second to 2 seconds at f/11 to f/16 with a camera ISO of 64. Some of images were created by combining 5-7 exposures at one full stop apart so that we could capture the high dynamic range of the evening and morning scenes.
