Colorado Bierstadt Moraine Longs Peak Fall Colors. View our latest photographs of Bierstadt Moraine and Longs peak after sunrise. Earlier in the morning we captured sunrise photos of Bierstadt Lake and the snow capped mountains reflecting upon the lake. Once the peak morning light had passed we headed back down Bierstadt Trailhead with hopes of finding more beautiful vistas. We were greeted with snow capped mountains surrounded by beautiful Autumn colors and a multitude of golden Aspen trees. The colors of the fall foliage on the Bierstadt Moraine was complimented by the surrounding blue skies and snowy mountain peaks. These photos of Longs Peak and Bierstadt Moraine were taken on September 29th between 8:07am and 9:33am.

Gear Used to Photograph Longs Peak & Bierstadt Moraine in Rocky Mountain National Park
The following camera gear was used in the Colorado Landscape Photography of Longs Peak & Bierstadt Moraine in Rocky Mountain National Park:
- a Nikon D850 with Kirk Arca Swiss Bracket,
- a Nikon D810 with MD12 Battery Grip,
- F-Stop Gear Aloe Green Tilopa Back Pack (with large Pro ICU),
- the Nikkor 24-70mm, f/2.8,
- Nikkor 70-200mm, f/2.8,
- the Nikkor 300mm, f/4,
- a Gitzo CF6X Mountaineer 2 tripod (GT2530),
- with a Really Right Stuff BH-40 LR Ballhead,
The 8:07am morning exposures of Snow Capped Longs Peak averaged between 1/80 second and 1/125 second at f/11. We used the Nikon D850’s and D810’s native ISO of of 64. The photos of the Bierstadt Moraine were taken with the Nikkor 24-70 and averaged about 1/125 of a second at f/9.0. All of these photos were captured with a single frame as we relied solely on the high dynamic range inherent to these amazing cameras.
