Sunrise Photos Castle Rock Colorado: Photographs of the Castle Rock Colorado at sunrise. A rare shelf cloud can be seen floating in the sky above Castle Rock in these Autumn morning photographs. These clouds happen only a few time a year. When the first light of sunrise reflects on the clouds it illuminates the entire area in a warm pink and magenta color. These sunrise photos of Castle Rock Colorado were taken in late September and October this year (2017).

Gear Used to Photograph Castle Rock Colorado at Sunrise
The following camera gear was used in the Colorado Landscape Photography of Sunrise in Castle Rock Colorado:
- a Nikon D810 with MB-D12 Battery Grip,
- Nikon D750 with MB-D16 Battery Grip,
- Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 50 v2.0,
- a Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 40 v2.0,
- the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR,
- and a Sony RX-100M3 with a Zeiss 24-70mm f 1.8-2.8 lens.
These autumn morning photos were all hand held. The exposures for the sunrise images averaged between 1/25 of a second to 1/80 second at f/8 to f/4. We used the D810’s native ISO of 64 on most and Auto ISO on some with and ISO of up to 1800. On the Sony RX100M3 the ISO ranged from 200-400. Some of these images were created by combining 5 exposures at one full stop apart in Adobe Lightroom. This HDR process was done in order to capture the high dynamic range of the early morning light. The very wide panoramic photos were created by stitching 9 vertical images together in Adobe Lightroom CC.
