Photos from Trail Ridge Road Rocky Mountain National Park Colorado at Sunrise. These images were captured just before sunrise along Trail Ridge Road in Colorado at well over 11,000 feet. As you can see in these photos we are above the lower clouds and below the higher clouds. This phenomena created a slot for the spectacular colors of sunrise to illuminate the inversion. Below the lower clouds there was fog and rain while above it was nice and dry. These photos were captured on September 5, 2018 between 6:13am and 6:37am.

- with a Really Right Stuff BH-50 LR Ballhead,
- a Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC,
- and an AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR lens.
More details for our photos from Trail Ridge Road taken at dawn. The photo of Longs Peak to the right was taken just as the pink and purple magenta light of sunrise illuminated the morning sky. These photos were all taken on the Really Right Stuff TVC 34L tripod. The D850 exposures for the images averaged between 4 seconds to 1/6 of a second at f/8, at the D850’s native ISO of 64. Adobe Lightroom Classic CC is our Digital Asset Management and development software of choice. All of these images are single exposures in the RAW format.
